Brooklyn's Nover has shot on "Ultimate Fighter"
By Katie Strang/Newsday Phillipe Nover's life has always been a balancing act. He grew up in Canarsie, but spent summers in The Philippines, his mother's native country. After getting into scuffles when he was younger, he appeased his parents by taking self-defense classes, but when his interest progressed, he was forced to sneak out of the house to attend his mixed martial arts matches to avoid upsetting his mother. He's had to limit his fights to about one per year while he attended classes full-time. Read more
