The UFC held it's first ever press conference that was open to the public at The Mall of America in Minneapolis Mn. on August, 7th. 2008. A massive crowd of cheering fans welcomed UFC vice president Dana White along with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and the fighters Brock Lesnar, Heath Herring, Kenny Florian, Rodger Huerta, Jon Fitch and Georges St Pierre. The fights will air live on PPV Saturday, August 9th.

Jon Fitch is an undefeated welterweight who will be fighting against The UFC World Welterweight Champion - George St Pierre. Jon stated, "I am going to take that belt." George told the crowd, " I'm in the best shape of my life. I am glad to be fighting Jon Fitch. I want to be the best and I want to fight the best." This five round bout for the title will be the main event of the night.

Considered by many as the fight of the year is the lightweight match up between Kenny Florian and Rodger Huerta. Rodger is from Minneapolis where the fights are being held. He has lived and trained in Minneapolis since 2002. Kenny who is from Massachusetts told us, " We are going to put on a great fight for you. Don't blink while watching this fight."

In the Heavyweight division sharing the main card spotlight is former wrestler Brock Lesnar who started training in MMA in 2006. He is fighting Heath Herring who has been a Pro MMA fighter for 11 years. Health has fought in many organizations before signing with the UFC two years ago. Brock is from Minneapolis and set to be the home town favorite.

Rampage attended and allowed Dana to update us on the recent arrest. Dana said, "I will explain to you what happened with Quinton. Rampage lost his fight to Forrest Griffin. He wanted to lose some weight so he was fasting. He wasn't drinking. He wasn't eating anything. He was drinking energy drinks and you saw what happened on the TV...They took him in for a psychiatric evaluation. When it came back it said there was nothing wrong with him mentally it was physical. It was exhaustion and dehydration that caused something that is called delirium. He is healthy and will be back fighting for the UFC soon " Rampage gave thanks for the love and support.
