Lil' Bulldog Having "Ruff" Time Finding Opponent

Combatwire TV co-host Felice Herrig had to make a little change of plans.  The Lil' Bulldog expected to make her Mixed Martial Arts debut at the Xtreme Fighting Organization's August event at Sideouts in Island Lake.  But one little problem, matchmakers could not get an opponent who wanted to fight her.

Felice Herrig has built quite a reputation for herself.  In the kickboxing ring she's known as a sparkplug with an agressive, brawling style, hence the nickname Lil' Bulldog.  Watching her in the reality show Fight Girls  we also learned she is a playful ball of energy.  Felice's fun personality mixed with her infectious smile and pretty looks helped her earn another television job, co-hosting the Combatwire TV show in Chicago with local radio personality Jim Lynam.

Herrig was preparing to transition from kickboxing to mixed martial arts by making her MMA debut at an event promoted by the Xtreme Fighting Organziation, one of the bigger MMA shows in the Chicagoland area.  Matchmaker's had one problem though, they could not find an opponent who wanted to step in the cage with her.  XFO is scheduled to take place August 9.  Since the event is a month away and Felice still doesn't have an opponent signed, she's changing her fight plans.

Instead of fighting MMA locally the Lil' Bulldog will wag her vicious little tail down to Florida to participate in a Muay Thai event in Tampa.  It's called Shin Do Kumate XIV, and Felice's opponent will be Jessica Sanchez.  Date is August 9 and you can watch it on TV, although you'll have to check your local cable/satellite provider for availability.  For more information go to www.mkmfights.com.

I'm REALLY disappointed that they couldn't find an opponent. Especially after she said "they promised to get me an opponent"... I still intend to try to get out to Sideouts for the show, but my excitement has abated a bit on this news. I can't believe NOBODY would fight her,(I guess when you're THAT GOOD... I'm thinking they could have flown in an opponent that WOULD have taken the fight. I KNOW she'll kick some Boootay down in Fla.
